Databases wtith content on social issue themes

Many themes can be social or political issues. Besides using the library catalog, searching the individual databases from which the catalog pulls results, can give you a lot of material. Most databases include tools for citing and saving what you find.

Opposing Viewpoints (Gale in Context) You can search as well as access menus to explore more than 450 issues and find background info and multiple sources in one place. To access menus, Browse all issues alphabetically, or click Topics for smaller, more specific lists.
General OneFile (Gale) A general subject resource containing news, magazine, and academic journal articles. You can search or use the Browse by Top row of buttons under the Search box. PRO TIP: Once you narrow down a topic, use Search Within to search within that topical area.
MasterFILE Premier (EBSCO) Content from reference books, magazine articles, and primary source documents, as well as images. PRO TIP: Once you’ve found and clicked on an article/item, you can often find subjects and keywords listed that you might not have thought to use in your search. You can also use that item’s bibliography/references, if provided, to find more related sources.
America's News (Newsbank) You can search your topic as well as access menus. To access menus, try Special Reports, Hot Topics, and Suggested Topics.
