If you can't find a copy of a literary work

If a literary work is not in your textbook, before you go out and buy a copy, try one or more of these resources:

LitFinder (Gale) Full text of thousands of poems, short stories, essays, speeches and plays.

University of South Florida Libraries Your HCC Student ID (HawkCard) enables you to check out physical books (no DVDs or other media) from a USF Library. You must return the books to that library. You may access USF eResources (article databases, eBooks, etc.) from within the USF library, using a library computer. To request a library computer, present your HawkCard (in-person only) and you will be given a temporary login ID. For more information, call 974-2729.
Hillsborough County Public Library Cooperative If you are a resident of Hillsborough County you may obtain a card with the public library system. Branch libraries with varying hours are located throughout the county. For more information, call 273-3652, #4.
Search Florida College & University Libraries

Google Books (Google) Google Books lets you search inside of millions of books. Use the "find in a library" link to discover if HCC owns a book. Funding source: Other, free. Here is more about Google Books and how to use it.

Project Gutenberg Provides e-texts of books in the public domain (including classic literature) available to download in plain text or ZIP files. The site is searchable and browsable by title and author.
