Frequently asked questions regarding COVID-19 and the library

HCC library database is available 24/7 with access to articles, eBooks and videos anywhere you have an internet connection.
Please do not come on campus to return items while the college is closed. Our first priority is for the safety of students and employees.

The due date for all items due after March 23 has been extended while campus is closed. For other concerns, please send a message to the library so that the library staff can work with you to resolve the issue. Update: Starting Aug 21st you may return overdue items to campus book drops.

If you already have physical items you borrowed through intercampus or Interlibrary Loan, lending institutions are being asked for extensions. Hold items that have not been picked up from your requested location will remain on the shelf while campus is closed; they will not be sent back right away. Physical items will not be sent or received during the closure.

Electronic ILL borrowing for articles is expected to continue as normal as much as possible.

Students in need of technology and internet access during this period are encouraged to contact their instructors for guidance.
No worries! We don't expect you to come to campus. In fact, please do not come on campus at this time. Just keep them in safe keeping until we reopen. Due dates for active loans have been extended until the college reopens.
If you should find that this is your situation, send a message including your student number and the title of the checked out item(s) to Andrea Dufault for assistance.

All scheduled functions on campus, including library orientations, have been canceled or postponed until campuses are open for service again. Faculty, contact your campus librarian to see if an online library orientation or other arrangements can be scheduled.
