Technology Tools for Students

Wifi Hotspot
Students can borrow Hotspots from the library at no cost. Devices are loaned for 2 weeks with opportunity to renew.
Laptop (Dell Latitude 5420)
Laptops are available for a 3 day checkout from the library. Laptops are available at the kiosk inside of the library.

Laptops have Microsoft Office products installed. No additional programs can be installed on these devices.

Students should stop by the front library desk to check out a power cord, mouse, and laptop bag before leaving the library with the computer.

All work should be saved to external storage, items saved on the computer will be erased when computer restarts,

MakerSpace Resources and Information

The Brandon Campus Library will soon have a makerspace equipped with a 3D printer, Cricut cutting machine, button maker, Legos, Ozobots, GoPros, and DSLR cameras. See more below

3D Printing Policy:

Students may submit a request for items to be printed on the Makerbot 3D printer at the Brandon Library!

Currently there is no charge for printing, but requests must meet the following requirements:

Files must be submitted to to the library in .stl format
3D Printing form must be completed and approved prior to printing
Jobs will not be printed that will take more than 2 hours to print
No one will be permitted to use the library’s 3D printer to create material that is:
- Prohibited by local, state or federal law.
- A weapon, weapon parts, or replica thereof.
- Obscene or otherwise inappropriate for the library environment.
- In violation of another’s intellectual property rights. For example, the printer will not be used to reproduce material subject to copyright, patent or trademark protection.
