Benefits to Students

The 2016 and 2018 Student Textbook and Course Materials Surveys by FLVC indicate a need for an alternative to the unsustainable growth of textbook cost. Students are already dealing with the high cost of college. As tuition, fees, and the cost of textbooks go up students in Florida tend to try to do without purchasing textbooks:

Benefits to Faculty

Using OER provides you with more freedom to select course materials that fit the goals and modality of your course. Resources are easily accessible to students during the course, and students can access course content months or years after the course has ended.
