Caldecott Medal Winners in the Public Library

The Caldecott Medal was named in honor of nineteenth-century English illustrator Randolph Caldecott. It is awarded annually by the Association for Library Service to Children, a division of the American Library Association, to the artist of the most distinguished American picture book for children.

Storytimes

You may be able to work with a children's librarian with the public library system to schedule storytimes at your child care center or at your local library branch.

  • Locate the library branch closest to your center - click the link below for locations.
  • Call the library's main number, (813) 273-3652, #4.
  • Tell the librarian which branch you wish to contact and you will be connected.
  • Depending on the staffing level at the branch…
    • The branch librarian may be able to schedule outreach programs at your center...
    • OR…
    • You may be able to bring the children to the branch for group storytimes.
