Using the Brown Books
Using the Contemporary Literary Criticism and Twentieth-Century Literary Criticism
Students are shown the sets of criticism that are available in print in the library.
Each student gets a randomly selected volume to use during the orientation. We look through the volume together - pointing out parts of each entry. Then each student works alone for 5-10 minutes to answer the following questions using their volume.
- What is one author listed in your book of criticism?
- What is the topic (or title) of one of the essays?
- Where can you find additional information?
