Finding French-Language Materials (Ybor City): Home

This library guide will lead you to French-language materials at Ybor City Campus Library, and online through the library's website. Click through the tabs across the top to view all the information.

Find Us On Campus:

Use Ybor City Library Advanced Search to locate materials in any format* in a language other than English. When you type in your Keyword(s), select the Language before you click Search. 

*Your results may consist of a mix of online eBooks, eVideos and eArticles, as well as physical books, DVDs, and other items located in the library.You can narrow down the list  by subject, available formats, etc.

• You can choose to show results in another campus, all of HCC, or all 28 Florida colleges.
  
  
• To check out items from the library or to access online resources, you may be prompted to  present your Hawk Card, or to enter your HCC Student ID # and PIN. Please refer to HCC ID and Library Log-In.

Try your own search on  Ybor City Library Advanced Search. Select French in the Language box before you click Search.

Try this:

• Find materials about learning French: type "French Language" in the Keyword box. Use the " " to search the two words together as a phrase.
• Select French in the Language box. This will ensure that only materials produced in French will appear in your results.
• Click Search.

NOTE:  There are books and other materials about learning French that are not written primarily in French.

• Try the Keywords "French Language" but leave Any language in the Language box.
• Do you see different results?

Try this:

• Find materials about Victor Hugo's "Les Miserables", type the phrase with the " " in the Keyword box.
• Select French in the Language box.
• Click Search.
