Hillsborough County Public Library Cooperative (HCPLC)

You can access more business resources online from the public library, such as:

  • Mergent Online - Financial details of more than 25K active and inactive companies.
  • ReferenceUSA - Data on 50M businesses and 292M consumers, including business directories, white pages, healthcare providers, and more.

How to access HCPLC databases:

  1. You'll need a free HCPLC Library card.
  2. You can get your library card faster if you apply online.
  3. Or, find your closest public library branch.
  4. Once you have your card, go to their page for Learning & Research and select business. 

University of South Florida (USF) Tampa Library

You can access more business resources at the USF Tampa Library, such as:

  • Business Market Research Collection [includes Hoovers Company Profiles] - Info on more than 5,000 companies, including people, products, subsidiaries, and competitors.
  • Ward's Business Directory of U.S. Private and Public Companies - Organized by NAICS code; ranks public and private companies by revenues/sales.
  • Market Share Reporter - Comparative business statistics.
  • Mergent Online - Financial details of more than 25K active and inactive companies.
  • IBISWorld - Industry reports and risk scores.

How to access USF Tampa Library databases:

  1. Remote access to USF databases is available only to persons with a USF ID.
  2. All others, including HCC students, must bring their photo ID and visit the USF Tampa Library.
  3. Once you are at the USF Library, request to use a public computer and you will be given a login/password. 
  4. From that computer, go to USF Library databases.
