1. Write a personal narrative looking back from some point in the far future on your own life as you hope others will see it. Use third person if you like, and write your own obituary; or use first person, assessing you life in a letter to your great grandchildren.
2. Because there is a short of donor organs, medical science has begun harvesting animal organs for the use of humans in a process known as xeno-transplantation. This is a controversial topic because of the benefits and risks involved.
As a student, you are required to research the concept of transplantation and then write an essay on your findings. You need to make a collegiate argument. This is a research paper; as such, you must document your work.
3. As humans hunt for the secrets to youth and longevity, much has been made of organic foods. Many think that the chemicals added to our fruits and vegetables help to feed the growing populations. Others argue that we do nothing but ingest great quantities of toxicants that lead to adverse medical effects upon us.
As a research student, you have been asked to examine this argument by examing the following: oranges, apples, lettuce, tomatoes (and TWO more fruits or vegetables you may be interested in). Your focus must be on the pesticides/insecticides that are used to protect them from destruction and the effects of these chemicals upon humans.
This is a research paper; as such, you must document your work.
