Finding Articles in Databases

HCC's Online Article databases allow you to search in smaller, more specific collections than the Library Catalog. You can find articles by searching with keywords. Use the options to find articles. You can access these article databases with an HCC ID. See the Home tab for details.

Google Scholar

Google Scholar searches academic publishers, professional societies and pre-print archives. Note: Access may be limited.

HCC Libraries' link to Google Scholar is below. It is also found in the library's list of databases. Using Google Scholar through HCC is an alternative way to find articles in HCC library databases. More information is in the Google Scholar results example.

Databases: What they are & why you need them

A Yavapai College student explains the benefits of using library databases for research.

Articles or Books?

Academic research involves using information from books (including eBooks) and articles. This brief video created by Adonis Amparo, Librarian, explains how to pick one or the other.
