HCC ID FAQs

Do I need an ID card?
Yes. Along with serving as your HCC identification, the ID card also serves as your library card and will allow you to check out books from the library and access online resources.

How do I get an ID card?
HCC ID cards are made at all campuses. Ask a library staff member or call your HCC campus library for details on campus locations and times. Once you get your card, bring it to the library for activation.

Is my card automatically valid/activated for library use?
No. Please bring your card to the library for activation. Or, call your library after you've received your card. Library staff have to input the Library code numbers on the card into the library system.

I take classes online, how do I get an ID card?
For distance learners, or students taking online or web based courses, contact an HCC campus library to make arrangements for a card and/or your HCC ID credentials. Or, Fill out an Electronic Library Card Application.

How much does an ID card cost?
Your first HCC ID card is free. However, if you need to replace your card there is a five dollar ($5.00) charge.

I have an ID card, does that mean it is valid/activated?
Not necessarily. You must be a current, registered student for your card to be valid. If you are not registered for the current HCC semester, your card will not be valid.

What if my borrower ID number or PIN number doesn't work?
If you are a currently registered student and the number(s) doesn't work, please contact your HCC campus library to update your borrower ID number.

How do I change my PIN?
Access My Account via the library site, the book catalog (LINCCSearch) or http://www.linccweb.org/. Then Click on “PIN” to change it.

Can I renew books or check on my due dates online?
Yes go to My Account and log-in with your HCC ID info. You can see your due dates for checked out items and renew them if they aren't already overdue.
