Intro to LibGuides and Embedding Videos
First of all, "Lib" rhymes with "Bib" - not "scribe." :-) LibGuides is a template-driven, third-party, content-management system for libraries, with a Web2.0 look and feel. The system is domain-mapped to your library's web site and hosted on the vendor's server. The templates provide box types for different types of content. This box type you're viewing here is "Embedded Video." Below is a video produced by the vendor, Springshare. I went to the video-hosting site Vimeo, copied the embedding code for this video, and inserted it into the template. If you don't upload a video to a hosting site, you can insert a simple link to it in a different box type (e.g. the "Database Tutorial" link in the Article Databases box in my first guide). Click the How-Tos tab for another way to display a streamed video.
Note about links in this paragraph: all box types provide an HTML text editor, so if you know some code, you can do things like hyperlink text.

This display is in a "rich text" box, which includes a hyperlinked graphic (in this case, a screen shot of the site described here).
Rather than a plain text link, this is one way to go beyond the basics and add some visual interest to what could be a very "text-y" page.
To see how I did it, go to the page, How Tos/Best Practices ("A Few Tricks I've Learned" box).
