A Few Tricks I've Learned To Make It Less "Text-y"
LibGuides templates provide an environment to insert social media and graphical objects. Wherever an "i" button appears below, there's more info about "how I did it." This is the "links and lists" box type.
- Embed a podcast with an Odeo player Under the author photo is a player gadget (similar to a YouTube viewer). You don't have to be a member of Odeo to embed the player graphic with your sound file. How I did it
- Create a video viewer gadgetThis is a video streamed on our server, not uploaded to YouTube. How/why I did it.
- Link to database via hyperlinked graphic Might be a way to make it less "text-y." How I did it - click the "i" button next to this link. This is a direct link to the authentication screen for this individual database.
- Connect to web site via hyperlinked image - in "rich text" box Might be a way to make it less "text-y." Whereas the example above uses the "books in the catalog" box type...this example uses the "rich text" box. How I did it - click the "i" button next to this link.
- Display slides via several social media sites/methodsHow I did it is described in the boxes.
