  • Creation Date: explains the publication date.

Can I read the books online?

In case you are not able to locate a printed book that fits your academic research needs, the HCC online catalog also has a substantial list of books in electronic format called eBooks.  See the directions below for tips on searching and accessing an eBook.

To view an eBook accessed through the HCC Library's Online Catalog, follow the steps below:

  1. After your search results have been populated in the Catalog, click on eBook under the Format section under "Refine My Results".
  2. To open the eBook, click on the book title or View Online.  If you are prompted to log-in, please see the next section on this page.
  3. Click on any of the sections under Table of Contents to open book pages.
  4. The column to the right allows you to make notes, save, email, print and check the citation.

When I try to read an e-book it asks me for a borrower ID and password. What do I use?

Your borrower ID is your 7-digit student ID number. The password should be the last 4 digits of your student ID number. Please see the "Start Here" page for more log-in instructions.  If you are experiencing problems logging into the catalog in order to view an eBook, please contact the library and we will our best to assist you.

Does the library have anything else besides books?

In addition to books, the library also has a nice collection of DVDs, Blu-Rays and audio books. You will find these by searching the catalog.
