Library Resources for Online Learning Students: Find Articles

A brief guide to resources available to Online Learners for library research.

HCC's Online Article Databases

HCC's online article databases allow keyword searching for articles from magazines, journals, newspapers, reference sources (such as encyclopedias) and digital resources including streaming video and audio.

Use one of the following links below to help find the right resource. You can access these research databases with your HCC ID.

  • Library Databases - view alphabetical list or use menus to view by subject, database type, or vendor
  • Publication Finder - allows you to search for journals and magazines by discipline or by title. Often you can search within individual titles.

Google Scholar

Google Scholar searches academic publishers, professional societies and pre-print archives. Note: Access may be limited.

HCC Libraries' link to Google Scholar is below. It is also found in the library's list of databases. Using Google Scholar through HCC is an alternative way to find articles in HCC library databases. More information is in the Google Scholar results example.
